A bloody Sunday for Ferrari #51
Bruni had an accident during the 6h of Shanghai
The sixth event of the FIA World Endurance Championship 2014 was a bitter pill for Gianmaria Bruni. The champion of AF Corse team managed to gain the second position after a bad start from the fourth place. Unfortunately after few laps the Ferrari #51 couldn’t avoid the collision with a prototype LMP2 car of KPGM team that stopped due to some technical problems. The drivers were uninjured. After the premature leave of the scene Bruni said:
“I was very unlucky because I found the stopped car right on my way out of a curve that needed a high acceleration. I managed to gain positions and I was at the second place after the Aston Martin when I collided with the prototype. Fortunately no one hurt. It’s a pity that we lost precious points but I am confident about the last two remaining races.”
Misfortune persecuted even the Aston Martin #97 led by Mücke-Turner that held the first position for 4 hours and a half but had to pull back after some technical issues as it happened during the 24 hours of Le Mans. The winner of the race is Porsche #92 led by Makowiecki-Pilet. The third place went to the Ferrari #71 of Rigon-Calado that conquered its second podium of this season. He hope to have better chances next 15th November at the Bahrain’s Circuit. Stay tuned.
