Barcelona, we’re coming!
AF Corse faces GT Open final event in Spain
The wait for the final round of the International GT Open is almost over. As per tradition, the closing event of this championship dedicated to GT3 Grand-Tourer style sports cars will take place at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. In season 2015 eleven world top manufacturers raced in the best European circuits ratifying the growing appeal of the competition.
As general info in GT Open one or more drivers can lead cars. According with the drivers’ status you can distinguish two categories: PROAM (when there is a mix of amateurs and Pros) and AM (amateurs). AF Corse, the Italian team that has been using Pakelo lubricants since 2012, is present in both categories. As happened in season 2014 AF Corse is actually first with 144 points, 56 more than the Spanish Teo Martín Motorsport.
In the PROAM Driver ranking, AF Corse team members are currently in second (Lathouras-Rugolo) and third position (Giammaria-Pérez) right behind the Portuguese duet Parente-Ramos. Regarding AM category Claudio Sdanewitsch, the defending AF Corse champion, 7 points ahead of the second one.
Barcelona final will be crucial to define PROAM standings. Ferrari #51 led by Michele Rugolo and Pasin Lathouras had a tough challenge during Monza semifinal. They will need much luck and courage to undermine the Portuguese opponents of Teo MartÍn Motorsport team while in the GT3 Team Trophy AF Corse is by no secret the most probable winner. The final will be broadcast on TV in 109 countries around the world next October 31st and November 1st but if you want to give a glance at AF Corse paddock right now click here.
