2015 Lotus Cup Italia – Official Calendar
Hethel House warms the engines up @Motorcircus (Italy)
This year Pakelo renovates the sponsorship agreement for the Lotus Cup Italia 2015. This agonistic championship is organized by PB Racing (a Lotus dealer that got the authorization as unique motorsport center for Italy) together with Hexathron Racing Systems as technical partner and Gruppo Peroni Race. It’s basically a six-race competition running on the Italian most important circuits that is potentially open to every Lotus lover owning a National C Driving Licence. Pakelo liked this initiative from the very start because it is an expression of healthy athletic spirit and it lets non-professional drivers join the emotions of a real paddock. Those emotions remind us the way we felt the first time we joined a racing team as technical partner for the motor oil supply along time ago.
The three winners would have the chance to drive a Lotus Evora GT4 or a Lotus Exige Cup R on the legendary Lotus Hethel Test Track in Norfolk (UK). Furthermore all the contestants will enjoy a guided tour to the factories: Lotus Motorsport, Lotus Cars e Classic Team Lotus.
After the winter break Lotus Cup Italia turned the motors on again last 25-26 January on the occasion of the Motorcircus fair in Verona. The organization disclosed next season’s calendar and gave a foretaste of the competition to come exhibiting a few cars (like the Lotus Elise Cup PB-R) and organizing a six-manche challenge in the fair’s external lot. The eight drivers delighted the visitors offering a great show and a preview of the cars’ new assets. In fact a few technical changes have been made to the braking system, to the exhaust manifold that has been coupled with a new second intercooler to help heat reduction and a longer bevel gear to improve eventual problems caused by short gear ratio. So we’re expecting great performances this year.
During the Press Conference at the Motorcircus Stefano d’Aste (PB Racing Patron) and Marco Calovolo (Hexathron Racing System’s Engineer) announced the following official calendar:
- 25th-26th April Varano De’ Melegari
- 9th-10th May Adria
- 4th-5th July Monza
- 18th-19th July Misano Adriatico
- 5th-6th September Mugello
- 10th-11th October Imola
