Manuel Vacca: The Italian drifting guru
HP garage & Pakelo Racing lubricants
Extreme driving style, art of controlling events, pure adrenaline. These things and much more are drifting’s essence. In English the term means “to be carried along by air or water” or “to swerve while you’re driving”. This advanced driving technique consists in consciously making the car loose the grip with the ground in order to start controlling the skid according with an ideal trajectory. The goal is to get as much closer to some hot spots called clipping points as possible.
If you believe that drifting is just the ultimate Japanese trend or that it is just a Fast & Furious kind of acrobatics you should think twice. The young owner of HP Garage Manuel Vacca makes quite an evidence that drifting is gaining its audience also in Europe. This thirty-some year-old Italian guy was born and raised in Castellanza (Italy). He started its driving career in the Italian Dragster Championship, but from 2007 he ventured the drifting world both as a driver and as a tuning mechanic. Strategically Manuel moved his workshop in front of Castelletto di Branduzzo Circuit in the North of Italy, a pioneering hotspot for Italian drifting culture. The proximity of HP Garage with Castelletto Circuit was very important for the professional testing of the cars. Manuel went PRO with drifting almost 10 years ago and he also began to teach other people how to drift. He’s actually driving a Nissan Silvia S13 but many athletes have been his students.
Drifting challenges are very intense for him because he plays both the role of the contestant and of the race mechanic assistant at the same time! Tuning mechanic, teacher, PRO driver. All Manuel’s life revolves around drifting. However, If you actually ask him which was the most important achievement of his career he mentions how he was able in 2015 to turn a normal BMW M3 model into a M3 Turbo 700CV in one week, just in time for the beginning of Italian Drifting Championship 2015. It is clear that his passion is deep and his know-how very precious.

Pakelo started suppling HP Garage, Manuel’s workshop this year. For his drifting racing cars, we suggested him an extremely performative engine oil called PAKELO KRYPTON RACING SAE 10W-60. This fully synthetic product is highly protective and empowering at the same time even when engine temperature skyrockets. Temperature is indeed a big issue, especially in drifting, that’s why Pakelo use to put some special Friction Modifiers in the formula. These additives consistently allow to reduce friction and working temperatures. PAKELO KRYPTON RACING SAE 10W-60 helps to take the very best from the car during races.
